Hi, we have 2 left over 4h ducks here at home. I have a basic 'biology' question that perhaps i should know but don't :)
If we have a male and female ,which we do, when she starts laying...does it mean they will always be fertile eggs? And if so, they are not to be eaten right?
If i want duck eggs (along with our layers which we have) should I just get females to keep here? thank you very much.
ps, is it possible to train them to be less frightened? I would love to interact but as of now(they are about 4 months old)they run away from us

you can eat the eggs just as you do the chickens. just because they are fertilized doesn't make them inedible. collect daily and bake with them or cook and eat.
