pekin ducks

I've wanted ducks for a while now and so today my son (22) ame horme w/ 2 from tractor supplyand they told him they would not lay eggs. Is this true, their only one week old. They said their not like chickens. I have 13 of them. Thank for any help. I'm new to this.

unless he knows something, no one else on earth does, I've never heard that. Maybe it means he sold you all males - so they never will lay eggs.

from Alabama. Glad you joined us. Totally agree with Kevin, our pekins lay quite a lot of eggs, although ours to be seasonal layers. Congrats on your ducklings and best of luck

Only if they all all drakes. Any hens in the group, expect eggs.

Unless they are both drakes you should get some eggs from them. Go say Hi in the Ducks section too. There are some really nice duck owners there that you can talk "duck" with.

Take anything you hear at TSC with a grain of salt. As others have said: if drakes - no eggs, but if hens - lots of eggs. Welcome to BYC.
