Pekin Hen Not Acting Right

She was quacking in the head shot there, so that's why the mouth is open. And of course, everyone had to come see what was up.

She's acting so much more lively with the others now. I'll have to gauge how she does this evening. If she goes down hill again she'll be coming inside for the night. At this point though, she has enough energy back that I think it'd be more stress to seperate her. Last night she didn't even quack when I brought her in.

Oh my....I think she was moulting...It can cause them depression and to feel icky ...Uping protein is as simple as Dry fish based cat food ..

We did just go through a molt, yes. You think it could have that drastic of an effect? I keep meaning to try some feather fixer feed. I'll have to grab a bag today and a small bag of cat food. I work at the feed store, so that's a plus.

How prominent is her breast bone (keel)?

Very much so I'm afraid. Or at least, a lot in terms of her size. She used to be robust and I had trouble wrapping my fingers around her to lift her up. Now I can pick her up without an issue.

I'm really terrified of the thought that maybe I was severly underfeeding her by accident. As you can see from the picture, I have a large assortment of ducks, but she's the only really big breed I have. The others keep gaining too much weight and I was cutting back on feeding amounts, but I think she needs more food than they do and when they eat together they all get the same amounts. I'm going to try making a mid-day feeding schedule for just her. For now, she's just free feeding because I've got her seperated though.
