Pekin Hen Not Acting Right

I'm not saying anyone involved in this thread is quick to medicate or assume Doom and Gloom at the Giddy-Up...Just that I always first look at simple slotutions..Management, age and sex of the Bird..Even breed is a factor in caring for them...Don't give up..She will be okay..:hugs

I have a terrible time telling. I think it still looked a bit full to me, but she had access to food all night, so she could have just eaten before I saw her this morning. How long should it take on average for it to go down after feeding?

On the weight, the only scale we have is the one in my parents' room and my dad is still sleeping. I don't dare go and wake him to get it, but as soon as he's up I'll grab it and check her again. She feels thinner to me today though. :(

That's why I like going natural, because everything I gave her will help boost her immune system and fight infection without tearing down any good bacteria. I prefer antibiotics as a last resort. I'm really starting to wonder if all of her other symptoms of weakness are just from her being so underweight, but the weight loss doesn't make much sense to me. If I could just get her to eat more I'd be happy, but she won't eat much without the others in there eating with her. But they'd eat up all the food if given the chance so I'm at a loss. :confused:

Is there maybe one other duck that you could put with her? One that would share the best, let her get her share, but provide some company to encourage her to eat??

I could put my Khaki hen in there. They're brooder mates and close buddies. I don't think she'd mow down the food like the others and she's too timid and small to get in the way. It's worth a try. Saddest part is, the other ducks are sticking right in the coop because they don't want to leave her behind, but she's terribly offended at the fact that there is a fence between them. :rolleyes:
