Wow, those are some pretty big temp fluctuations. cochins1088, is yours a still air and have you tried putting it in a closet? Keeping my fingers crossed for both of y'all :fl Incubating eggs is certainly nerve-wracking, but believe me, it's worth it the first time you see the chicks :)
 
I hear ya! I'm on day 26 with my ducks and the temp is going all over the place with the weather outside changing (Ohio). Can't seem to keep the humidity up either for lockdown. Not much of a lockdown when I'm in it every hr or so with more steaming water....
 
Well I candled and my 4 little embryos and they are still alive. And the tempature is seeming more stable. It is still air, and I haven't tried putting it in a closet. I guess that would make sense putting it in a closet with possibly less tempature fluctuations. These were some very expenive eggs so I really hope they hatch. I hatch lots of eggs from my birds all the time, but this would be my first time with shipped eggs and they were $60, I admit I'm a bit disappointed in the fact that only 4 embryos developed, but I'll be happy with what I have. I think I'm going to order more on Sunday and take my chances one more time.

I hope you both have good luck with your duck eggs. These tempatures are just so out of wack, I went to my brooder to find my babies chirping and hundled together, the hottest spot was only 80 degrees. Of course I still can't believe that the average tempature dropped 40 degrees overnight, did you have a big tempature swing like that in Ohio?
 
Yes we did, it was almost 80 yesterday and today its maybe in the 60s in the sun. I'm still waiting to see/ hear anything from my guys, hopefully soon....

OMG I know what you mean!! i brought 18 duck eggs for quite a lot of money, and only 2 hatched and 1 died!!! I was so angry. L

Luckily my incubator is better and I also only have 4 live eggs and i am prayin g they will all hatch fine because there are 2 of each colour of the breed. Its day 19 now and i just want them to hurry! Its such a good job that im going to school tomorrow or else i know that bator lid will be off every 2 seconds cos i wanna play with my new babies sooo badly! When i incubated my ducks i kept opening it and doing everything wrong which i now realise, too late tho, but call ducks for my first ever hatch probably wasnt the best of ideas.

I'm hoping ill have more luck with chickens tho becasue so many of my ducks have died lately :( Possibly due to the cold, im seriously not sure so big hopes for this hatch!
 
hey everyone,

would someone give me some the temps and humidity % with hatching ducks? i have call ducks in the incubator.... but have never hatched ducks before so any insight to what to expect would be appreciated....

I'm on day 27 with my rouen ducks in a home made cooler type incubator. I had the temps at 99-101 degrees and the humidity at 55-65. turned at least 3 times daily or always a odd number. I haven't lost any yet

. This is my first time hatching but hope that helps. I have 8 out of 10 internally pipped now.
