Pekin vs White Layer

Hi friends!

I recently got three more ducklings to add to my flock of three. One of the ducklings has a very pale beak compared to the other two/my big ducks. I’m still new to this, so I’m wondering if this means that I have a white layer in my mix?

They’re all supposed to be Pekins, but it doesn’t really matter. I'm also wondering what the difference in the two breeds are? Google hasn’t been much help.

I’ve attached a picture of the babies, the one in the back on the right is the one I suspect may be a WL. They just got out of the tub, so they’re wet - apologies.

Thank you!

I got three pekins last spring and one had a pale pink beak as well. I wondered if she was something different, but she appears to be regular pekin. She's ten pounds now and the sweetest duck! Congrats on your babies.

Thank you! My big Pekins all have orange beaks so I’m just wondering. It’ll be interesting to see how the little one matures!
