Do you know if the males have green heads like a Khaki? Or can the girls have green heads too?!

Hmmm all three of my babies are showing metallic green in the sun, but one HONKS! like it’s a girl. The other two are raspy peeps.

I’m having the same thing
My Pekin hen and khaki drake had 5 babies. My 2 boys are getting full green heads now but my girls have green shimmer in the sun through there lighter brown heads
I had to take a double look cause I was confused
I know I have 3 girls they honk louder then mom lol

We hatched some pekin x khakis a couple years ago. They both turned out to be drakes, but they’re beautiful! Do you have pics of the ones that just hatched?

We hatched some pekin x khakis a couple years ago. They both turned out to be drakes, but they’re beautiful! Do you have pics of the ones that just hatched?

These are the ones that I believe are Pekin (mom) crossed with Khaki Campbell (dad). I also hatched Khaki crossed with a chocolate Swedish (mom), but the last time I hatched those, they were only chocolate (looked like Khaki babies) or chocolate bibbed babies. So that’s what leads me to believe these are all the Pekins babies.

My girls are lighter brown my boys are dark
When born
Then they all get really cool patters the boys went red/ brown girls went more medium brown
Then they lost all those feathers and the adult feathers came in. I have 1 girl with a little white on her neck and both my boys have it one bigger then the other
The boys are very colourful now at 4 months
Heads are green and lost the eye markings
They have black on their backs and wings that turn teal ,blue and purple in the lighting
The bodies are grey/ blue , black and brown shades.
My girls are almost the same as first feathers but the pattern changed a little
First 3 are the girls
The boys you can see the little red / brown on the side that’s the last they have to loose
