Peking ducks or muscovies?

I vote Pekin (NO G) and my girls have been the noisy ones and then it was only from food excitement or a warning to other fowl.

i vote both. i love my scovies to pieces. my drake is the best boy in the world. they are quiet. mine don't fly often. they have a covered pen. my drake never flies away when i let him out to come sit with me. but i do love pekins, they are pretty, but it depends if you can have loud ducks or not. i don't have any pekins myself... yet LOL

Muscovies! Hands down. The leanest duck meat available. And the quietest duck on the hoof. Excellent fly control, will also take on rats and mice. And the drakes are excellent guard birds too.

I have 2 pekins and love them! But they are loud, well only the female. I was told that I would know if I had a girl and now I know what they meant. Lucky for us we live in a rural town with lots of farm animals so if my neighbors with no pets but a "guard dog" across the street complain I will just tell them to move out of the country if they want to escape the animal sounds. (She complained when we had a horse because of dust) All the other neighbors are far enough away to not complain. But I would think they would complain about the donkey/pigs someone owns in the canyon below our house they are very loud!

Every time I come outside to see the pekins they see me, start quacking and run over to me.

A little trick to make them like you even more, PEAS!!! I learned that on here not too long ago and they love me now.
