They are beautiful! April is a great time to start too! Are you getting chicks or older ones? If you need any help building a brooder, coop, or run, we've got the forums and Learning Center with all of that info if you need it!

Good luck!

we are getting chicks from murray mcmurray. This little fluffball have been on my mind for quite some time. we finally decided since we are getting some standard cochins in february. im not really worried about the bantams getting picked on since no one in our flock is mean the only one that gets picked on is our polish hopefully she starts being happier when we move the bantams into the coop

Gotcha.

Yes, your Polish should be happier. I raise/breed silkies and have seen people add a couple to their regular flocks and they fail. Two were returned to me. She had RIRs who were bullies to them.

As long as you have around five of them or more they can stand ground by themselves and should be left alone. Many have found they integrate quite well and live among their other chickens just fine.

I'm so excited.
