Pellets to crumbles

The feed will swell, so if you fill the jar 1/2 full of feed and to the brim with water, you will have a mess. How many chickens are you fermenting feed for?

I use the same 3 buckets and just rotate them. I just rinse the sides of the buckets with water to keep feed from hardening in the buckler.

9 chickens total. 8 hens and 1 roo. Maybe the bucket is for the best. I know the food swells to like 3 times it's original size.

I keep mine inside. Easier to keep it in a less harsh environment and no nosey critters. I think I'll start over. This little chat has proved to be very helpful. Thank you very much.

Just read through this.. Are you all saying you mix the feed with water and serve it? What about the feed getting moldy? I'm very curious about what exactly you all are talking about lol...

Yes I mix it with water and let the water get absorbed and feed it to them. And it doesn't have time to get moldy because it doesn't later more than 3 minutes and it has been devoured. I never wet more than I know they will gobble up in a hurry. They think it's a treat and I know they are all getting a full belly... well you know.

You are welcome! I done in the coop because my house dog will eat it if she can get to it!

That's hilarious. Our dog would probably eat it to... he wines and crystal when we give the girls watermelon on hot day because he wants watermelon. What kind of dog eats melons.
