I was given a young chicken about a month ago and have just been giving it layers pellets as the other 2 that I have are older. But I just thought to myself maybe she is too young to be having layers? I have no idea how old she is (or even what breed to be honest). I can't seem to upload a picture. But she is smaller than my other 2 which are different breeds and she has a large comb. She was making quiet tweeting noises but is now starting to make louder noises if that helps?

Sounds like she is a teenager and not yet old enough to handle the Calcium in Layer feed.

You could consider changing the flock to a feed without the Calcium and offer Oyster shells for the layers until she starts to lay?
