Would like to know which type of pen is best for bobwhite. Right know I have 8 bobwhite in two pens that are 2' wide 18" tall 36" long. Should the be in a pen that's on the ground so they can fly around. If so what would be a good size of pen. Also can you raise other type of bobwhite together

Your current pen sounds awfully crowded for bobwhites. I would give them a minimum of 1 square foot/bird, more is better.

I believe that you can keep other bobwhites in the same pen, but @007Sean knows them much better than I.

Your current pen is way too small for 8 quail or even 4 in that size pen.
My aviaries for my quail are 180 sq.ft. and some are 320 sq.ft. I typically run 25 to 30 birds per enclosure...5 males to 20, 25 females. I have Butler, Northern, Mexican Speckled, Tennessee Red Bobwhites in those enclosures. I also have run Blue Scaled in with my Bob's with no problems.
I have also raised them on wire but they don't fair as well as those raised in 'on ground' enclosures.
