Hi All, I am working on some landscaping for my girls pen.
I feel that they should have a stylish and well decorated place to call home.

I have started the project, my vision is so have the whole thing lined with cinder blocks
then plant chicken safe flowers in them. I have wire mesh surrounding the coop so
they cannot eat too many of the flower, but should they get a bite or two they will
be safe for them to snack on. What do you think? Any other ideas are more than welcome.

The coop and pen before I have done anything.

After: I have layed a few blocks, then planted them with flowers.

Very nice! I think they will enjoy that. You could also consider a living feeder for inside if you want additional coop landscaping.

This is one that I like but there are lots of ways to make one:

I love that Idea. Thank you so much. I am going to do that this summer for them. I will post pics once I get it put together and under way.
Thank you so much for the idea!!!!

I used plastic box planters in case I have to move these "salad bars" out of chickens' way when they come out to roam. Supposedly, these are plants that chickens don't like, such as Marigold, Lavender, Grape Hyacinth, and Sedge, but I have seen them tried to nibble on the plants from inside the run anyway. Everything is a living feeder for chickens.
