hi im new here im thirteen my name is eva anyway.... im going to get ducks!!! okay so i have this piece of clear land in the woods and i want to use 4' tall chicken wire with no top and a kiddie pool also they have a coop to be safe at night would a dog carrier work or something sturdier? would that keep predators out and what do u think? oh yeah im either going to get two pekins and two mallards or call ducks

The chicken wire is no good. You live in a clearing in the woods. the chicken wire will not protect them from predators. Also you will need some kind of covering over the run, or at least electrical fencing. Predator can and will climb over the top. And if you are getting ducklings them you need the cover to protect them from hawks and other predatory birds. The large dog carrier should work okay, if it is located in a secure run. Racoons can reach through the sides of the carrier and kill the ducks. Also the size of the carrier determines how many ducks you can keep in it. Are you planning on two or four ducks? I don't have ducks so Someone else here will have to let you know how much room they need. I hope this helps you. Rosie & Roger
