Penguin seems sick

Pics
So good to hear Puffin is doing well and back to being herself. Is Penguin eating at all on her own yet or are you still having to tube feed her? Are you still giving her the poultry cell? Vitamin B? Is she
prescribed meds or are those
Yes still on vet meds and poultry cell / vitamin b. She has not eaten on her own yet.

She's sure precious and we're hoping she makes full recovery too. Such good news to hear Puffin is back to normal. Hopefully Penguin will start eating n her own. Have you tried making a little soup for her out of her feed? with warm water. Maybe she'd try it warm and soupy?
I have not tried that but sounds like a good idea I will give it a try today

USER=42327]@Miss Lydia[/USER] , since Penguin is drink on her own, what's your opinion on adding ACV to her water? Would there be any additional benefit or would that interfere with antibiotics prescribed?
I don't think it would likely interfere with the drugs, but I probably not recommend it. Most drugs are acidic. If your duck is not eating and drinking properly, adding more acidity to their crop doesn't sound like a good idea. I could see it causing nausea in them, just like it does with us, and potentially make them eat and drink less. Too much acidity could also potentially harm internal tissue.

I left her in her room with her sister and put a bowl of soupy food in front of her. She is always hesitant to try new foods and she does not seem interested. I checked about 30min later and she hasn't touched it, but she did manage to move a couple feet over and that is the first time I've found her in a different position than I left her in

Made it through another day, very happy to see Penguin is moving around a little bit by herself. Every time I went to check on her she was a few feet from where I left her so that is very good. She's definitely got more energy and is fighting me a bit more on the tube feeding. Still not eating by herself but she is definitely doing much better than she was a few days ago.

This morning I gave penguin her bath and she definitely perked up. Her legs are gaining back some use, when I picked her up they were flapping around as duck legs do. When I put her in the water she was splashing around a bit and when I took her out she flapped her wings, even managed to make it halfway down the hallway from rhe bathroom to her room all by herself. I'd say now she is in the same condition Puffin was in at rhe worst of it for her, and she recovered pretty quickly.
