Can I let the new birds hang out free ranging with the old birds?

Hello, welcome!Central PA
Looks like that should work well to keep them isolated for a bit.
Hello, welcome!I am a bit west of you...
Looks like that should work well to keep them isolated for a bit.
Probably a better idea to quarantine for a bit just to be safe. Some people do, and some don't. Ya just never know what you're bringing home from other farms. Better safe than sorry is my opinion.![]()
Saw an ad on Craigslist last night that had a whole bunch o different types of birds for sale along with peacocks, bunnies, pigs, etc. We took the kids to see everything (just to look and NOT buy!) and of course came home with 3 Cochins!!!!!! Had to build an impromptu pen for them to keep them separated from our 5 others. Success!!!!!
Quote: I would quarantine for a week or two definitely, and I always dust new birds for lice and mites, you don't want to compromise your own birds even out foraging.
U think I can let them free range at same time or best to do at different times?
I would say at different times until you've determined that the newbies are for sure disease and pest free! BTW, where did you go? I just may end up there, LOL! In the spring I'll tell you about the farm in Churchville, MD, if you don't already know of it. My kids love to go there, and he has a little, or a lot of everything! I've never left empty handed.
