I think the gravity waterers just need a tank, pvc pipe & waterer nipples. You can heat tape them for winter or just carry water when it gets too cold.

There's a way to add a pressure regulator valve, then run it from a garden hose, too. That's probably how I'll rig mine, rather than have to deal with algae eventually growing in the tank.

I only have 1 exterior faucet,so can't tie mine up that way. I'll have to go with the tank & just add UPACV.

Speaking of. Didn't I just hatch over 50 chicks on Sun/Mon? I have another batch going into lock down tonight.

I am running out of room for these chicks. Didn't someone say they wanted to come help me build a new brooder? I can pay you in chicks! (I am enabling future enablers, btw).

I had a little bit of a scare. Yesterday, while I was working on my coop, I heard a weird coughing type noise. I couldn't figure which one it was they all looked healthy. I have regularly cleaned the coop, no moisture. This morning I was back again, working on the coop when I heard that strange noise. So I stopped. I went over and sat in front of them and watched them to see which one was coughing. I had heard of whole flocks dying due to a cold type cough. I waited and saw "Big Sammy" my largest leghorn rattle his wings. He was learning how to crow! It was so cute and funny. That means I have to move faster and get them down the valley away from my neighbors quickly!

I'd try shining a flash light though the plastic. I also think that if you have a black tank sitting outside in the sun the water might get too warm....I dunno.....

Here it is!! the miracle baby! Its all black with yellow around is neck somehwhat! So excited that it made it! The one that piped in the middle however did die :/
