this looks very much like the one I just built, I highly recommend some poultry netting across the top, I picked up a roll at Lowes for $13 7 foot by 100 foot. Very lightweight, I think they call it, 'wildlife netting'

That's nothing permanent. Just somewhere for them to stretch their wings under supervision until I get the coop/run completed. It was 80 degrees today, couldn't keep them trapped in their brooder with nice weather like that.

Very nice new girls! I'd be willing to bet the lighter one is the Silkie... looks alot like the color of Gracie's eggs.

Very hard to tell. I'm thinking Favs usually lay a really light colored egg & I've had some silkies lay a darker egg. My silkies also tended to lay a rounder egg like the darker 1 & all the fav eggs I've had are really oblong. I could be wrong though. Try the food coloring or stick them in 2 separate cages for a day & see which egg is in which cage tomorrow.

Guinea started laying last week,,, first round in the bator, second round to go into bator #2 early next week after the BCM's hatch out,,, only getting about 4 a day so far

Built my girls a playpen today. First time outside. Still kinda iffy about it.

That is cool. I am so glad I'm not the only one who calls it a "play pen"....when I said I wanted to build a "play pen" for my chickens, I got a look like.

That was kind of what i thought. This is the first egg from her. i have had 4 silkie eggs so far than if that's the case. They are such sweet girls! Thanks again!!

Love my new girls!!! they are so sweet! They are doing well in quarantine, i give them lots of treats. New coop will be done Saterday.
