I have the emergency medicine kit from First State Vet Supply aka Peter Brown great price and all grat thing to have on hand if you can order from them they are just in Maryland.

this is so kind of you, Border.

Anyone else who has their ear to the ground regarding Peter Brown and meds, he usually has a booth at local poultry shows, and the Sussex show is coming up, possibly this weekend.

Thanks everyone. I managed to find some corid at Umbergers in Fontana. Got there 5 minutes before they closed. Hope all of the chicks do well over night. There's only a few that seem a little sluggish. Took them out and offered them food and water with the corid and they ate and drank well. Fingers crossed. I did see different post about the mixture. Some said 1tsp. per gallon and others said 2tsp. Went with 2 and hope its not too much.

question for the locals within a half hour drive,,,,,,I would rather not order leg bands online, but can not find a store that carries them,,,all kinds of animal tags but no leg bands.....anyone know of a place that i can just run into when i need them..

second question.....there's an e-bay ad running for lots of different turkey eggs,,,,it is the midget whites i am interested in....anyway they are from montrose Pa, with the name of sweetcountryblossoms , anyone know who this is, if so could i get contact info, would like to try some of those eggs since they are local...

1) Have you tried Brandt's in E-town? I can't remember if I saw any there. 717-367-1221 Otherwise, X2 on Huber's in Myerstown.

2) You could try contacting them thru ebay, then do the transaction outside of ebay. I've done this before on local items.

Does anybody nearby have any lizards/reptiles that eat flightless fruit flies? I just bought a vial of them at Petsmart last week, but the bird I was feeding died. I had only taken about 4-5 flies out of the container. If anybody could use them, please let me know!

Gavin asked I post this pic of our 2 Wheatens, Angel and Duncan.

These two and our OEGB are the only (possible) show birds, for now. Once we cull the extra roosters and the cornish Xs we should have enough room for some more....who am I kidding I'm already looking into other breeds and making a list of ones I want, I mean "ones Gavin needs for showing."

I think first we'll look for some more bantams for our OEGB roo.

ok we need advice for anyone who has experience with broody hens...we have a welsummer who tried to go broody about two months ago but she got out of that prett quickly and started laying again now she is starting again and it has been 20 days without eggs but we are hesitant to get eggs for her to sit on cause she only sits on the nest when she feels like it. she sleeps in there and she goes up for a couple hours a day. she is a little older so she only was giving us about 3 eggs a week usually but we can only keep so many chickens where we live and we are debating getting rid of her. would you guys trust her to sit on eggs or do you think she would leave the nest
I agree with the others about letting her set on fake eggs till she decides to get serious... you should know within a few days if she's going to park herself for long term. If she can't get serious about it then put her in a wire bottom cage for a couple of days to break her mood.
I would let them both have eggs. If the Sussex gets up for too long, give them to the Silkie.
x2...
So, a couple questions.... Broody ends up with extra eggs when she gets up... One broke in the nest and got on eggs she's sitting on.... What do we do? Should we start over? Only 3 days in.... Also I want frizzle eggs.... And silkie, anyone have any for sale? Thanks!
Unfortunately we don't have any silkie mix eggs right now, since Gracie is broody... again! LOL
If only 3 days in and they aren't 'special' you can restart if you think they are damaged or compromised by the broken egg. Just give her golf balls for a few days to keep her happy till you get her your preferred eggs.
I'll trade you those mallards for a 15 year old know-it-all !!!
Been there, wished that!!
