Found blood in my run this afternoon. After investigating, found it came from my frizzle roo. He had blood feathers on his feet that got broken. Caught him and washed his foot off, applied blue kote. Hope he will be ok.....

x2 I absolutely love the raw peas... but don't like them at all once they are cooked!?! Guess I'm strange.Yum! Send me some. I love fresh peas. Eat them raw by the handfulls.
Yep, that is me... we planted them on a fence at work a couple of years, used to love grabbing a bunch and sitting on the porch munching on them while working on paperwork after calls.x2....my garden has only started delivering....but I'm lazy...I only do snow and snap....to lazy to shell....in fact they never make it out of the garden area.....
Our roo with feathered feet has done this a couple of times and we did the same thing... just cleaned it off and sprayed it (once with Poutry Aid, once with Blu kote) no problems with it healing up. Just watch him for a day or two but he should be fine.Found blood in my run this afternoon. After investigating, found it came from my frizzle roo. He had blood feathers on his feet that got broken. I got one order of eggs delivered today and hopefully my other order will be in tomorrow. Last time I ordered a mixed batch of eggs the seller marked the breed on each egg. This seller didn't do that. Not sure which way is the norm.
So far no rain. I locked the silkies in extra chicken house since they like to sleep in the run. I was afraid they would wash away! I locked them in all winter hoping they would realize that is where they are suppose to sleep but they always went back to the run if they weren't locked in. I'm hoping they take to it this time.
Do certain breeds tend to make more of a mess? I swear my white rocks are messier than my other chickens since the day they hatched. They are so sweet but the mess drives me crazy!
I need a bigger coop/run ASAP but I'm having a hard time finding something that will work for us. I want everything connected but be able to section it off. Bantams on one side and the larger birds on the other. Each with their own house. Any ideas???
I hope everyone in the path of the storm stays safe! Good night!
