I have pawned the peas off on my daughter,,,I would rather pick an acre of peas on my knees in 90 degree weather than sit and shell a bucket of them
i love to shell pea's, beans, anything, but i do tend to sit and think of not so nice things that have happened thru the years, i guess i brood about past wrong, as i shell, but like everyone else, i love pea's, LOVE all food and you can tell by looking at me

you pick, i'll shell & cook

YaY looking forward to it! So I bought a butterfly net at the dollar store today...to capture the escape artist ducklings! Was successful, and they're back in their tote with some wire over the top. DH and I went out to the coop this evening to put something in the personnel side, and he went around the yard. He's looking at the one pekin duckling and yelling at him that the other one obviously figured out how to get in, so why hasn't she? I freak out and run in the coop, yup, there's the other pekin! Yes! Score, she actually went UP the ramp and into the coop! So I'm in the coop, filling feeders, and I here this godawful quacking...the duckling that was still outside came running in, quacking all the way! YES! Both of them made it in by themselves. Hopefully they can repeat the stunt the next time I let them out. As I sit here typing the 2 babiest ducklings are cuddling on my foot. They've been on my chest, one attacking my shirt while the other attacked my necklace, they've been over to their bowl of water on the other cushion of the couch, they've been on the arm of the couch...they just love being with the people. LOL I put them in the basement and they are NOT happy. Spoiled, these 2 are spoiled!

Welp, I locked everyone inside the coop for the night since there's a flash flood watch for Armstrong county and a bunch others. Can't have my young pullets washing away. They've been hanging out with the big girls for the past few days in the run and the little ones still get a peck every once in a while if they get too close to our red sex links, so will that be a problem in the morning when the big girls wake up? Or can I trust that no one will be pecked to death until I get up and get out there to let them out into the run?

Just do what I do every morning ~ set my alarm for 5:30, go open up the coops and let them out into the runs ~ then go back to bed!!

Please do let me know if you have any cream legbar pullets available

I am in Red Lion. I will let you know if i have any extra. :)

If anyone is looking for laying or close to lay pullets let me know. My mom is moving and can only take 6 of her 14 chickens with her and no roo's.

4- 15 month old RIR (From TSC, not sure about true RIR as they have some white on them) Laying jumbo size brown eggs every day.

there main man is a beautiful mix roo. Great to his ladys and friendly to everyone. Not mean at all, not overly vocal either. All in all a nice big boy.

Others are  about 3-4 months old
1 buff orp pullet
1 barred rock pullet
1 black austrolorp pullet
1 BCM roo. from H&H. Perfect coloring and feathered legs. Could be nice for breeding or showing. Just started crowing.

All chickens are tame and healthy.

I also still have a nice olive egger roo and an EE roo. Olive egger is Cuckoo maran/ Auracana cross from beaglady. Friendly roo and takes care of the girls.
EE is also friendly.
Just thought i would offer here before i open up the flood gates on craigslist....
Thanks! and stay safe everyone!

I could use some more layers. We are practically neighbors! I am also in RedLion! :) I am off of Mt. Pisgah Rd.

Yay, I will try to be there. I can bring some ducklings..

I got one order of eggs delivered today and hopefully my other order will be in tomorrow. Last time I ordered a mixed batch of eggs the seller marked the breed on each egg. This seller didn't do that. Not sure which way is the norm.

So far no rain. I locked the silkies in extra chicken house since they like to sleep in the run. I was afraid they would wash away! I locked them in all winter hoping they would realize that is where they are suppose to sleep but they always went back to the run if they weren't locked in. I'm hoping they take to it this time.

Do certain breeds tend to make more of a mess? I swear my white rocks are messier than my other chickens since the day they hatched. They are so sweet but the mess drives me crazy!

I need a bigger coop/run ASAP but I'm having a hard time finding something that will work for us. I want everything connected but be able to section it off. Bantams on one side and the larger birds on the other. Each with their own house. Any ideas???

I hope everyone in the path of the storm stays safe! Good night!
