After the incident we had last year with the goslings, it's best that you not come. BTW, how's the other one doing? I assume it is dead too.

Gee it is so nice to be single handedly basically banned from an event that so called everyone was invited to. This was a response I got when I asked nicely for directions to the picnic/swap. She is banning me because I bought two geese from her last year. One got taken by a Fox last year and the other one sadly got taken this year by a Fox also. Now, how many of us have suffered from predation? This is not fair. I am sorry to have to post this, but I do not stand for being bullied.

So, now who's bringing this to the high school level. I would like to remind you and tell everyone else on here what ACTUALLY happened. You purchased 2 of my one month old healthy goslings, then stayed at Roots Market all day and night with them without bringing any food or water with them in the back of your SUV with your children. Then the next day you posted THIS........ and tried to blame ME for his death. So, no, I am not going to welcome you into my home.

HELP!!!!! Gosling down, & throwing up!!! Update.. He died only a few minutes after I put this...

There are 3 versions to every story. Your version, there version, and the truth. Both parties know what the truth is.

A person also has a right to ask you to not come to there property. Whether it is just or not, you should have kept it to yourself.

So did you post the stuff about your goose being sick, or did a fox take it? Just curious.........

Have to agree with Heatherscooby. If there were personal issues and words exchanged before, I think someone has the right to say they are uncomfortable with not having someone else on their property. No sense in trying to drag someone through the mud in front of the whole thread. Her answer was civilized and PRIVATE.

I have a friend who has a snorkel on his truck and drives out to some of the islands on the river every summer. I don't blame her with the baby. I'm trying to quit again. This is my 10th or 11th time trying since Gavin was born, but I signed up for a quit help thing this time. So hopefully this time it'll work.

My mom quit more times than I can count throughout my childhood. She'd been quit for 6 months when I was 17 and she got a job at the country club, they smoked in the office. She of course started up again. 5 years ago she had a double knee replacement. She smoked the night before the surgery, and came out of surgery not wanting a cigarette, and despite frequently being around smokers, hasn't had one since. She never smoked in the house, as my father was completely against it, she only smoked in her car when us kids weren't around. I remember being 7 or 8 and taking every cigarette out of her pack, breaking them in 1/2 and putting them back. Pretty sure I got a blistered butt for that one.

Sorry, I was not thinking clearly yesterday. I did have a Fox take a gosling last year just, in the heat of the moment I couldn't remember which gosling it was. Yes I met her at Roots and bought her two goslings. My kids and I stayed for an hour after we got them. They were stressed as you can imagine from traveling. I gave them water at least twice in that hour. We went home and put them in our quarantine pen as we normally do. Where they had plenty of fresh water and food. The one was acting a little funny but I thought it was just stress from traveling and being at a new location. The next morning I went to go take care of them and my other birds and the one gosling could not stand and was shaking, almost like a shiver. I didn't know what to do for it and turned to the normally great advise on byc. So yes, I did post those in an effort to try to figure out what had happened. The gosling died before we could come up with anything. I was heartbroken that it died. The other gosling, grew up here and was just fine till a few weeks ago when we had a Fox come. I didn't know there was a fox nearby until it showed up 15 feet from my backdoor and by then it was too late. The 2nd male goose that she had sold to me died trying to save his mate. My female is still mourning his departure.
The truth is neither one of us knows why the first gosling died. Either one of us could have been at fault. But for anyone to say i didn't try everything I could to save the gosling would be wrong. I wish it never happened. I felt horrible about it and still do. I have saved many animals ( alot from Roots as jkzimm 04 said) the gosling though had me totally stumped.
Sorry this was so long but now you know.

Edited other posts as requested. Sorry

My little one has her last recital for the year in dance. She is still reeling from her gymnastics recital Wednesday. Had to drag her out of bed to get her ready because we have to be ready for dress rehearsal across town by 8:45, where I will have her fluffy bumblebee costume shoved under another costume for the opening number (and white shorts that need to stay white for several hours), and wings and headpiece in tow, keep her occupied for 4 or so hours of dress rehearsal for the entire company, come home, try to get her to nap within 4 hours before she needs to be there for the show where we will wait another hour before she is collected and taken back stage WITHOUT ME, and have everything in place with inlaws, my twin preteen boys, and my mother (from out of state) all at the correct place for the 2 to 3 hour show, and worry myself silly that the volunteers and staff realize that if she says she has to pee, she isn't kidding!!!!!
Oh, and my coffee needs to be consumed before we get there because I cannot have any in the auditorium............so got up early to consume enough caffeine to kill a small animal!!!
Please pray everyone. Thanks.....
