maybe not a will but some people have a statement of if they want to be resuscitated or not...........Living will----as in whether you want to be on a ventilator or have a feeding tube etc.....

medical durable power of attorney is another document that some people have so that if you cant make decisions for yourself re: your medical care-----you have appointed someone who can make those decisions.

can anyone tell me why a visiting nurse would ask for a couple of the will.????

Are you sure she didn't say "living will" or perhaps she misspoke and meant to ask for a living will? A living will is the legal instructions for healthcare when a person can no longer communicate or can no longer make those decisions. She may have wanted to know if the patient wants to be resuscitated or want other life support in the event something happens. That is the only kind of "will" a visiting nurse would rightfully want or need, and she would in fact need it.

Pics or it didn't happen right???

A question about quarantine procedures when adding chicks to the flock....I am getting a new coop tomorrow and will be using the old coop as a quarantine for new arrivals...so how far apart do the two need to be....if my flock is free ranging then they can always touch beaks through the quarantine pen wiht the new arrivals??? Thanks in advance!
Not breathing the same air and not touching preferrably.
i believe the bet case scenario is to not have them breathe the same air. Which sounds extreme, but not if you consider air borne illnesses.
Yep
I grew up in Shamokin, just 9-10 minutes from Knoebel's. Who is lookin to go???
People have bought chicks since the time ive been on? No way. Haha!
Some hatched chicks too
Yes I am in the dreaming and planning phase. I have read quite alot on this site. People sure have alot of experience and recommendations.............i dont know if I will ever start there is always another thing to consider.

Some of my big concerns are:
I dont really have good carpentry skills or tools...........

Like how do I cut wood at an angle?
I can drill holes and put in screws, nails, use screwdrivers and a hammer , staple gun etc.
I am good at painting etc......

How will I raise my dresser coop and still have it be sturdy etc............

and recently in a post re: building of coops someone mentioned the floor should have drainage...........hmm how much?
The dresser has a wood floor...........I could drill some holes but I want it to be strong........

is this for hosing out????

so many questions!

but I am having fun thinking about this....................its like a really big craft project!
a circular saw is inexpensive and has a screw to adjust the angle

Hey guys! This is our newest foster dog, Banana! He is a lab/pointer(?) mix and about 7-8 months old. He is up to date with all his vet stuff, including being already neutered. Banana is a super sweet boy and we are looking to place him with a super sweet family. Great with other dogs and kids. He was just hours away from being put down in a shelter in Georgia when we rescued (saved) him. PM me and I will get right back to you!

Morning all! I've been awake, just not on line. Great meeting old friends and news thank you galgo for hosting! Really appreciate everything you did!

Somehow I ended up having to restart my incubator, not really what I planned.

It was interesting seeing how different yet how alike everyone is, yeah, I'm weird, now you all know for sure.
Do you need more to make it worth running the bator?
Thanks all! I'm finally up and about.... : )

Thank you, things turned out great after all...........I really need to get out more often instead of working.
Yep.
Hey everyone!
I'm considering showing at the Lebanon county fair. I have questions if anyone knows.
In the catalog #6 Fair will supply coops. Chairperson will be in charge of all feedings. Pens that are dirty must be cleaned. Shavings will be available.
Now when I did the farm show, they took care of the animals all week long. I am going to do the York fair and they clean and feed as well. My friend shows rabbits and said she never did the Lebanon fair because they don't feed or clean. Does this mean I have to clean them? I live in York county and it would take me an hour to get there, and an hour to drive back. If this is the case I am assuming not many people show there unless they live close or camp out!
Thanks!
There are a bunch of us close. I'm about 10 mins away.
can anyone tell me why a visiting nurse would ask for a couple of the will.????
Look for DNR order, care and "maintenance" request for hospice

Agreed

Sounds about right

I'm sorry if this has already been mentioned, but I'm relatively new to this this thread and I keep hearing mentions of a map. What's this map that people keep bringing up?

So If I drop a log off at your house Chad, you can cut me a slice of it?? (Hard to believe that with 3 acres, we don't own a chain saw, or circular saw...or well...any power tools except a drill..... We cut the rounds for the table numbers with a bow saw. And yes, I mean we, DH did the first several, and then I did some, and then he did one and then I did the last few. Nothing funnier than the view someone driving by would've gotten...me leaning on the log, on the trunk of the subaru while DH cut....or DH leaning on the log on the other side of the trunk as I cut!
