Please help me!!!!!!! I don't know if this is bumblefoot or not. He doesn't seem to be in any pain but its getting worse by the day. I'm so new to chickens that I don't know what to do. If someone could please tell me what this is and how to help my rooster I would great,y appreciate it. Here are some pics.

I made some up last year for a party with gluten free flour as we have a friend with celiac...she was in heaven! My filling was a mix of cream and cheddar cheeses.
Depends. I have 1 roo that only hangs out with one hen, a bunch of hens who hang out together, and several roos who go from group to group.
YUMMMM!
Not nearly enough! I just counted, I have 10 bottles of wine in the fridge...and feel like I'm running low. Going to Adams County Winery for the 150th celebration this weekend, so will likely pick up more, and have 4 cases on order for the wedding....ohhh...and we're going on a wine honeymoon.....
Darn, I forgot to do a kilt check!
Why separate the roos?
Going to the Class 6 for a bottle of vodka to do drunken yellow cherries (did bing in bourbon last night) Then going and getting feed, and then grocery shopping. Going out to dinner with friends tonight.
Yes, and they are ADORABLE!
Bing in bourbon ??? what is that LOL Dinner out is always nice!!

A few nights ago i merged several groups of chickens of various ages. Normal pecking order issues, some sleeping outside, etc. Nothing I didn't expect.
Included in this was a momma and her two two week olds. They weren't moved, just opened another run area between them and some others, and she is taking great care of them.
Late last night when I went to close coops, she was on the roost, 18in of the floor. I couldn't find the babies!
After searching, I found them, huddled with her on the roost! Amazed they got up there, but all was well.
Just thought I'd post this for those who sweat and worry about every little thing. They are very capable little creatures!
Awww how cute!

He's looking great! Shouldn't be too long for your eggs now, remember to grab a pic of them to provide us with an announcement.... I actually sent out a pic message to about 3 or 4 friends with a pic of our first egg! Felt like we laid it ourselves after all of the time we spent working on things for our birds!

Good morning! Today is coop cleaning and getting ready to head for Erie for the weekend at camp...
and probably giving the puppy a bath, considering he has been having fun alternating between playing in the water in a nearby ditch and sleeping in the coop in the cool sand! I don't think we want to spend 2.5 hrs in the car with him in the condition he is in right now!

Camp about 20 mins west of Erie... all are welcome, just phone ahead! LOL
You are very welcome, I really enjoyed the day and meeting all of you! Glad I was able to help and next time we will have to order a bit of drier weather! Though when I got home I found there had been 6" of rain in our area during the day, a few nearby towns made the news in Pittsburgh due to the extreme flooding, sure glad I live on a ridge top! The cobbler was great (Radioman passes along his thanks!) and I'll pass along the soaps to my Mom in the near future, she will love them!

The longer I have the chickens and the more broodies we get to see the less we worry... amazing how well they all do.
Sounds like fun, minus the stinky puppy lol

Morning/ afternoon all!

I need to vent a second about how i hate the USPS...... They lost my one large shippment of eggs for 2 days, it shows up today and the box is all messed up and leaking.

I lost one double laced blue barnvelder egg, 1 wellsummer and 1 crele pendesenca. AND I am missing my 3 leg bar eggs i ordered..... Waiting to here back from the lady i got eggs from. I am still hopefull for the others that made it, but i am letting them settle. Most are so dark i am not sure if i can see thorugh them. Can you see if they are scrambled usually before you start to incubate?

Sorry that happened, I hate the USPS at the best of times, I ordered ferret food yesterday - it will ship from hazelton & apparently won't get here till between the 3rd & the 8th of July - how that is possible I have no idea, it isn't like hazleton is halfway across the US ... grrrr

There are a bunch of -hazleton's and hazeltons. You have to see which state. :p

Rose- how much did analysis at Quakertown cost? I might end up going there because there is noone else near me taking chickens.
$49 just for the visit, then whatever tests they need to run on them, I had his poo checked, no blood work, but sometimes they can tell by looking at them and know what to treat for, If you call make an apt with DR Clark, she is the avian vet, I saw Dr Hoffman, she was nice, but I really liked Dr Clark better. As for a price, I would say.. I think I spent like %140 on that visit, tests, a shot, the visit, & antibiotics) I may have gotten out with 70 something the when I took my one girl with, I didn't have as many tests run on her though.
