Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

My new chickens continue to learn how to cohabitate!

They are doing so well............every day a little nicer with each other
and exploring more.........
relaxed................
and darn cute!

I blocked off access to the nest box tonite so that the little ones would roost in the "upper bunk"

I love to watch them when they are sunning themselves...............they look so calm and content!

Big Hen is pecking more gently................

all of them are learning more about the ramp in and out!

On the not so good side...............I have to see a wound specialist re: my shin..............maybe surgical debridement afterall!
I will know more tomorrow! Hope its just a minor thing...................

Gonna check if it's fertile before I cook it up for Gavin. He's been insisting he'll be the first to eat one of OUR eggs.

ETA: nope wasn't fertile, then again the girls haven't been too keen on letting the boys do their "job."

Yeah I can't wait till ours start laying there 17 weeks today so I think we have a bit of a wait! Just put 30 eggs (backyard mix and Easter eggers) so well see how many hatch hopefully this spring everybody will be laying we go through eggs like you wouldn't believe having a family of 7. And my first batch I got 2 speckled Sussex pullets and then I got 8 chicks orpingtons and 1 barred rock (not sure how that one got in there lol) lost 1 chick then lost 3 more chickens to dog, fox and hawk so now were left with 7 and 3 of them are Roos ugg I need pullets
