I'm amazed...there's grass in the run.....

Now, you guys know I only have a few chickens...

...It gets moved once a week so there IS grass. I have that luxury, I guess that's what it is...

, only because I don't have many birds...I am working on the 'math' thing...

Is anyone planning on attending the Mother Earth News Fair at 7 Springs in September? Here is the info. I am going on the 21st I believe.

Had a great time there last year! It took us all 3 days to get through the place, I can't imagine just going on Sat!! We are going to try and get there again this year.... Unfortunately, no Temple Grandin this year.

My town is in the middle of a fight to allow backyard chickens. Although it doesn't affect me at all, I have been supporting it with a full effort. When I read more about this business concept, it gives me lots of ideas. If the ordinance passes, I could be everybody's chicken dealer! Buy, sell and RENT!

Aw crud...next thing you know there'll be chicken syndicates. I can see it now: Thug "Yous really don't wanna rent from her. Her chickens only lay every few days and hate bugs. Now da Bosses' see his girls lay everyday, and you'll never see another tick."

Went away for the weekend and came home to six banty/frizzle chicks. Other hen in the pen still has about the same amount of eggs that she is still sitting on. They look like they will take another week to hatch. In my other pen where i had my SS chicks and two ducklings i found two chicks dead and two ducking missing... Asked my hubby about it and all he said was " i fed and watered them and got them in their coop but didn't do a head count "... Oh well, sad that i lost 4 birds but happy that i have new banty chicks. I will try to take a picture tomorrow of them after i am done working at the horse farm. My boss has been sick so she has been leaning on me alot to do almost everything around the barn. I'm not complaining, i LOVE working there! It's the most i have been around horses in at least 15 years. Finally got to ride last week.... Wow are my legs out of shape.......and i must get some riding boots again....mine disappeared some time when we were in the military moving around.... Over than my legs she said she was happy to see that i didn't lose my confidence in riding. Don't know if that would ever happen to me, i love the exhilaration and the freedom i feel when riding... Any how haven't been on here in a week and thought i would give an update on what is going on around here.. Not sure when i will be able to get back on again... Gotta get up early and get the kids off to school then off to the farm i go...
