Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Chad is a good distance from me. We spoke about the cpt thing before. I am most likely going to get certified myself or my BF so I wont have to worry anymore. And does anyone know future dates of the testing in harrisburg for the cpt?

The person to contact is Dr. Nan Hanshaw. As the licenses run December to December it doesn't make much sense to have the classes in the fall, check out the Penn Ag web site, I've found them listed on there in previous years.

Oh NOOOO!! Was there insurance? I really hope they surface and that they are ok.

Yes, thankfully. And the shipping should be refunded since they missed the time and date promised. I just feel like I am at the postal service's mercy since UPS and FedEx don't ship. :(

Yes, you are. And FYI, MsLadyHawke breeds and shows Barred Hollands and she's here in PA.

Thats awful...hope your chooks show up...keep after them and don't let up....don't feel bad about making the postal folks uncomfortable...you are paying a premium for live animals and for premium transport...get the managers involved...and if they blow you off get your local politician to make a call....my two cents...

Still cracking up about your chicken wing comment....Dare I say it?....

Consumers will have no way to tell if those chicken nuggets in the supermarket freezer were processed in the U.S. or in China.
To follow up on that...I can't remember the name of the company, but one of the largest US chicken producers(not perdue) was purchased by a Chinese company within the past year....go figure....

Well Blarney....we both know, its just a Ridley thing.....lol

Two questions for the those who know chicken behavior:

1. I have one of by baby marans who will not go into the coop at night on her own....she spent last night in the back yard.....I am not that concerned now...but, when it gets colder, she will need more protection,,,,,is there anything I can do to 're-program' her to go into the coop....I normally just shoo her in the pen at dusk and close the gate....

2. My broody girl is real broody....she last got up off the nest yesterday morning for breakfast...I have put a bowl of scratch next to her nesting box...but that will not last when the other chooks go to lay their eggs....I am asking because I added three more eggs under her late yesterday morning and she hasn't moved an inch....

Thanks for the encouragement! They evidently made the flight to Pittsburgh, but I don't know yet what happened. My local postmaster called this morning to have me pick them up. Everybody was safe and sound, plus I had 4 eggs in the box! I must have been more worried than they were! :)

I am a CPT. I don't live by you, but I will be visiting family in Sweet Valley/ Shickshinny next month. That's an hour or so away. When do you need your tests by?

I'm getting closer and closer to butchering my own chickens after reading this http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-09-03/don-t-trust-a-chicken-nugget-that-s-visited-china.html
heck, we have a schipperke that won't eat a chicken mcnugget, he turns his nose up at them, looks at you like "what the heck are you trying to do, kill me"
course our frenchie eats everything so she likes that he won't eat them
