Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I'm gonna appoligize if I'm repeating myself, haven't had enough coffee to keep threads straight...Well we picked up some more Seramas the other day. We now have (including the ones from before) Frodo the Frizzle, Gandalf, Galadriel, Rosie Cotton, Goldberry, Gimli, Legolas, Aragorn, Esmeralda Took, and Arwen. We should be adding Éowyn and her chicks in a few days, gotta wait for the eggs to hatch. I think I created a monster when I told Gavin he could name the Seramas anything he wanted, now they all need to be Tolkien based...

Here are some pics of the newest additions:
Aragorn
Arwen (bottom) and Esmeralda (top)
Legolas (top) and Gimli (bottom)

The brooding room is now the Serama room...so I guess now I "have" to set up a brooding coop and run lol.

Really cool names

...tell Gavin he picks well, might have to get him to name my next one

Just met a really nice lady at The Mill of Red Lion. She was getting feeders and waters for some BO chicks that she is getting. She was asking the cashier where she could get ACVM, they didn't know so I happily chimed in, "you can get it at Giant in the organic isles". She perked up and said oh great you know what i am talking about! So we got into talking about our birds and i told her about this site and the PA thred, I invited her to join us and learn as much as she could! It was great, and to think, that was me 5-6years ago.. Lol

I will post another pic of my chicks and the "bump" that is on their heads in a few minutes. I have to do that from my Kindle, my phone for some reason will not let me post pics.r

So I just got a text from the wife.

My girls are SCARY.
Mine eat snakes, mice, moles & anything else they can catch.

A "bump" on the head is typically a vault that later turns into a very nice crest.

Thanks! He's obsessed with certain things having a "theme" the Seramas are all Tolkien, the mallards are Ninjago (LEGO) character names, most of the Americaunas are seasons. Then you have me with my "liquor coop" (wish I had half the stuff the birds are named after lol).
He said sounds good he loves naming things, just send a pic (snot read it over my shoulder)...lol.

Nope I think the first two were right on the nosey...lol
ROFL!

Thank you so much Stake and Birdbygavin! This is really helpful!

You're welcome

Thanks Stake for the link!

Brittany, your coop Taj Mahal is gorgeous! I don't know if I could do something like that, but I may try the wooden pallets route. I figure if I get pallets for free and I mess up, I haven't lost anything!

So tomorrow I will drive around with Hubby looking for pallets. I've already seen some nearby, I just will have to beg and plead.

Does Anyone in Bucks County sell chicks in the late winter and early spring? Thanks!

Where in bucks county are you there are a lot of places that will give you pallets for nothing. That's what I did and were in Quakertown! Pm me if you need some info

Anybody local to Bucks County have Fertile Guinea eggs,Chicks or full grown? I'm looking to get a few to help an elderly man out up in the poconos who recently lost his to a fox. Or if you know where I could get any local that would be great.
TIA

Ok sorry it took so long. My phone and my kindle wouldn't sync. I finally have more pictures of my chicks and the bump on their head.

Hope they give you a better view. What is so confusing to me is that I do not have any crested birds, and I know my roo and my hens have no silky in them... so I have no idea where this came from. Like I said only three of them have it....

I came home from the railroad walk to hungry mungrals!

A
nd just wanted tp share that I moved these at least 80lbs concrete slabs for the feed and water dishes to sit on so that the mud dosent splash on tothe bottoms of them.. wellllll went to adjust the one by having the left hand on large coop and my right on the slab... went to move it and here my left foot which was apparently supporting my weight slipped and I thought I over stretched my tendons in my shoulder it hurt SO BAD. But all is well, just letting you know BE CAREFUL in everything you do even if its as little as an adjustment.
