When somebody mentioned Ivermectin(sp)....I was able to find it on Ebay and Amazon (a PA company) for about $17.00 (shipping included)....drops not paste....and there are links on BYC with dosages....etc...
I did see the "dosage chart" very nice!! will be doing a bit more research for well, all the need meds. for these girls....see what is the best and at the best prices..I have time now....will use what I have now, then look into better/easier for next time...

RB:

There was a thread about using used feed bags to line a coop for insulation...my first thought was to buy a movers' blanket at HomeDepot....I also weather stripped my doors/windows on my coop...this is my first year, but, my youngest is about 10 weeks....he's moving from the growout to big coop so he can spoon with the big girls....I don't think these temps are that hard yet depending on where you are and how many chooks you have... you can also add extra straw/ pine shavings to add insulation...
I think SIlkie had a good pic of what hers looks like ..with the bags to cover, for insulation.

Hello, I am near Shickshinny Lake. Yes, I met Noriko through Craigslist, I bought 4 Ameraucanas and 2 barred rocks from her. I didn't get my turkeys from her though. She had Narranganset turkeys and I have Royal Palm.

Wow!!!
Hubby has turned into the crazy chicken man..
He helps out at the Manheim farm show every year
So I took the night off of work and went for the parade today, only to find out that all the chicks that they are hatching for the crowd will be coming home with hubby at the end of the farm show,,, when was he going to tell me this...

Sweet!

As you all surely know-----its cool and rainy today................yuck.

my chickens are preferring to stay in their dry coop!

Its not that big of an indoor space...................this is making me wonder about winter! hope they find things to do to occupy themselves that are not problematic!

I have a variety of food options with different locations so they wont fight over sharing one bowl.

worries of the chicken caregiver-----continue..................part of spoiling or nurturing our gals!

I am having trouble getting quotes to work right on my phone but here is a pic JJ took last night after changing bedding in the coop. It shows my feed bag insulation. They need hosed down but we haven't gotten that far on the cleaning yet.
