Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Went to TSC today for some feed and they were having a swap. Found a silver penciled banty cochin hen and she came home with me. She's 3 and a half months old and I'm keeping her inside because it's only gonna be about 20 tonight. She came named.

I present you Georgia. It's funny because my best friend's name is Georgia.
Sorry it's not that great of a pic, I'll have better ones tomorrow.

interesting her back and hackles look just like my SG Dorks,,,,say hello to Georgia for me....

This morning I learned the importance of my run... Looked outside the window around 8am and there was a fox sitting by the run just sitting there staring at my chickens. I should of took a picture, because it was a bit humorous too, there's no way of the fox getting to my chickens

My two cents....you need to chase that critter out of the area...not good to let him test your perimeter...want to rent one of my pooches?

Hello everyone!...Been there and back again..a TattlesTale!...hee hee..DOn't really know what that means, but, have been very busy! And now trying to re-COOP-erate!!

...we are still married...

They are between 4-6 months, the BL being the oldest. I have better pic of them. Just wanted to show the new coop with the girls. We made the run to be able to 'tear-down' and store nicely. Eye hooks and hinges for easy removal and opening to get in & clean. Sand in the coop. I also put netting over the run for aerial protection. This coop is for their quarantine. After that, they will be put in with the other girls.
We have them set-up in the garden right now, makes for easy cleaning, just rake poopy to hole and cover with dirt! All materials we had left over from other projects and just siting around. The only items that were bought , hardware( screws, eye hooks) and sand. The 'run' can also be made larger by adding more panels.

Here are better pics of the girls. This is right after we got home, so they are a bit disheveled...no one is named yet..I am soo HAPPY!!!

The littlest one: lots of blue, the lacing is looking good

#2 BLR lacing is a bit thinner, I really like her mahoganey/red

BL: she is so calm, good to have with the others. Her body is very nice

they are molting/getting new feathers..feathers are every where! Can't tell a whole lot in these pics, but I am liking what I see...I have waited sooo long for these girls!!!

yes,yes..more pics!! she looks pretty!! Love the feather patterns!!

I love the blue laced red wyandottes. I have 7 chicks around 3 months. I have 3 splash, 3 blues and 1 black. I think I have 4 boys and 3 girls (splash, black and blue). Can't wait to see them grow and colors come in better.

I like the variety packs but I wish they would not put the IPAs in them. I just don't like them. To me they taste like fermented grapefruit or an alcoholic Fresca.

I am leaning toward building. I can't justify $500 for a small 4 x 4 coop.

I will, and thanks! I'll have more pics for sure tomorrow. She's very healthy, and I know the people we got her from and all of their animals and pens are very clean and healthy. Her nails were pretty long when we got home as I was evaluating her, so I got the dog clippers. I clipped tiny little smidges off. Two of them started bleeding and bled everywhere. I felt like a terrible person. I swear though, I only cut off the very very tip. About the size of a ball on the end of a bobby pin.
