I think I've found a new use for old pallets....I am leaning them against the fence at a 45 degree angle to create a space for the chooks to hang in or run under if hawks pay a visit.....

Great idea.... along the same lines... you can lean 2 of them against each other, creating a structure that looks like a tent sort of . Halfway down the opening on each end just screw a board across to act as a brace. To brace the 'peak', cut a square out of a piece of plywood about 8 or 10 inches square, then cut it in half from a corner to corner, creating 2 triangles, screw a triangle onto the peak at each end. This will create a free standing structure you can place out in any open areas the birds like to roam in, or an open area they have to cross on the way back to their 'safe zone'.

I was just outside and my golden sebright roo just let out a perfect, beautiful crow. the amazing thing is, he's never even ATTEMPTED to crow! He's 23 weeks. It was a perfect, 5 note, crow. So excited.

Well, I thought I knew that my bantam cochin was healthy, but she wasn't. So my chickens were exposed to whatever she has for about 12 hours. I don't want her to be a carrier and spread it to the others and her offspring, so I guess we're culling her today. Such a huge bummer. I really liked her.

Anyone have any HEALTHY banty cochin hens/pullets for sale?
