Hey all:

Looking for a couple of turkeys and maybe a goose for the holiday...want really large!, and if its still walking thats ok too (though I may be dispatching it for the ride home....if none alive and you have one already dressed out...that might be doable too....

PS willing to drive to get....

Thanks!

I am also considering using the wazine in the winter since the egg production will be down.

I was gonna ask the question about whether it is harder on the chickens bodies though..........can they handle wazine in the winter? or no............

When do you do it?

I think I heard 2x a year is recommended.

thanks in advance.

I've used Wazine before, it's easy as you just add it to their water and it is the only wormer that I know of that has a withdrawal period for chickens written on the bottle -but just meat chickens, no recommendations for eggs. Wazine is not a wide spectrum wormer though, so I now use Ivermectin. It's inexpensive, easy to use, is a wide spectrum wormer AND kills mites and lice. I've read that people eat and hatch eggs as soon as 5 days after use -although we go 14 here for good measure.

LMP...posted those Longwood pics JUST for you! I still have not been in and seen the Conservatory, DH and I are waiting to see it together, isn't he romantic?

I use Wazine..but then I know/knew they had specific worms...round. I am actually pretty ticked right now about it too..November 1st I wormed everyone..now "someone" has them again

...I really don't think it is my 2 egg layers, but I had to do it again,( just added it to the morning water, also added some vitamins/minerals- give a boost)... knowing that if it is there..it is everywhere...so..another MONTH without eggs, because I WILL be repeating in 10 days like it says. The egg production was already down to 1 every 2-3 days...and my partridge is molting..whatever!
I did a "hen-check" today on everyone.. they all look & feel good..nice weights, no parasites, quite a bit of feathers coming in. Will just have to wait it out..have to have healthy birds to have good eggs.

I was wondering what anyone thinks of the more "natural" ways to de-worm birds...I have been reading about *Garlic ( seems to be popular & highly recommended) and of course *Pumpkin...

**Blarney..do you think that Invermectin is better than Wasine..even if for just round -worms? The girls do not have any other issues, would Invermectin be 'over-kill'?..(for my birds).
