Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I just took my girls a big pot of warm oatmeal and decided to keep them in the coops all day. It is nice and warm in the coops ~ pushing 30's! They are doing well, so no need to let them out in the cold and wind. They also have fresh straw and a couple of pumpkins to keep them busy. I hope they don't expect this everyday!

All of my chickens survived the night! They are still locked inside their coop. The wind is nasty and blows right through their run. I'm sure they would survive but I feel better leaving them in for the day. I have some butternut squash leftover from my garden so I gave them some and they have been having a good old time pecking at it.

The kids and I have been doing experiments all day. We did the boiling water, bubbles and now are timing how long water takes to freeze outside. We did 1/2 cup in different types of containers.

I have 4 dozen of eggs so I thought I would offer some to friends and family on Facebook. Everyone wants the brown eggs and no one wants the white. That cracks me up. I guess I will keep the white for us and sell the brown ones when the time comes. lol.

Aww!!! I had a Springer growing up! She was an awesome dog!!! How much do they go for now days?

And I found that giving the boys and girls a "litter box" has helped me 100% they are now going potty in there so clean up is easy. I put pine shavings into the box so pee and poo stays in there not all through the bed and box. I now have pine shavings everywhere in my house...but nothing the sweaper cant take care of.....much much easier then the old newpaper deal. I did that for two days and was sick of poo and pee soaked pups it was everywhere.
