I don't dub, but I also don't show. Most of the birds I have now have pea combs but when I was raising oegb I still didn't dub. Personally, I don't believe in it. Jmo, but I think it's cruel. God gave them pretty combs & waddles & I think that's the way thhey should stay. They only began dubbing with certain breeds (oeg at the top of the list) in order to fight them. The birds without combs & waddles had an advantage over those that did have them because they were less susceptible to injury. I don't agree with dubbig being a requirement to show certain breeds either. As long as it's a requirement I will never show those breeds.

Are you aware of just how much chicken knowledge we have put in your head in the last 2 years ???

Dubbing is NOT a pretty thing and its really stupid for showing birds. But we dock puppy tails too without a thought. I wouldn't even think about dubbing, but for medical reasons and the health of my Roos end up in jeopardy from frostbite I am going to do it. But I can tell you this much, I wont be doing it in a nonsterile environment, yyyyyeeeeeee gads some of those vids on youtube, what are people thinking! is it that hard to use sterile tools in a clean environment!
