Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Guys, I'm just over the moon with my new pair. My friends all look at me funny, so I figured I'd gush here.

•I'm so excited to actually have a pair. It's my first pair. My very first. They're chicken-keeping history makers.
•The rooster is a REAL rooster. He's absolutely fabulous. Nothing like I've ever had before. My dog followed me into the garage today where they are and the rooster threw himself in front of her. It was awesome. Later I went in and they were both sleeping/cuddling. I opened the door to the cage and when I started to pet the hen, she clucked and the rooster abruptly pecked me to let me know that tpuching his lady like that would not be tolerated. I was never happier to be pecked.
So thrilled for you! Looks like these babies got a really good home.

So here's some of my 'free goat feed'….picked up 5 discarded Christmas trees on Monday Night. Back hurts so bad today I can hardly walk arrrgh! I never did get those birds bathed…gotta do that today!!

A beer bath would be what you get when you don't proofread your spell check. Although a beer bath might be fun.
I had an uncle who worked in a brewery and drowned in a vat of beer. He had to get out three times to go to the bathroom before he drowned.

Bath was intended to be boil in the original post pages back.

I have seen sooo many trees around here!! If I had a truck I would bring you then! :D

Silkie, I hear ya on the pea combs. I'm really liking my Wyandotte girls, they are laying for me even in this cold and dark, perhaps I should focus more on Wyandottes and not so much on all my single combed varieties….hmmmmm

Here's my poor BCMs boy. I noticed this morning that his comb had poo all over it! My OE girl is roosting in the rafters of the run for some reason (in the day) so I guess she was the culprit. Anyway, had to catch him in the muddy run ~no small feat. I was chasing him in circles around the coop, my best girlies were staying at my feet (maybe some treats would magically come falling out of me?), eventually he hid from me in the coop, Thank Gawd! He was easy to corner in there.

I slathered him in Balmex as I read somewhere it was better than Vaseline for this…don't know if it's true or not, but what the heck.

I think the girls are 'into' it.
Sorry your guy got it so bad Blarney....

HMMM...you guys are real funny...

***Quick question if anyone knows...SALLY..I KNOW you know.....What is the Dosage for Tylan 50 for a LF-adult bird? I will also be putting this in a piece of bread like you had done...thank you...to anyone really who can get an answer to me...

been working on garden plans, not sure why hubby insist I put it all on paper every year, we never follow it anyway...

am I the only one that does this??

wish I had someone to trade...Meat for fruit and veggies...I really do not have time for all the garden work

I always plan mine out on paper. I'm very visual so this helps. Use a pencil, plan, erase, plan, erase repeat haha. What type of veggies would you be interested in. Maybe we could work something out as far as swapping meat for veggies. I actually hate to harvest the stuff. That's the DH's job. He gets upset because I can't get it canned fast enough and it starts to spoil. This past year I was able to sneak it out and give it to the chickens...shhh don't tell.
