Well it is amusing but I think it would really work. If needed you could use some polyclay that you bake in the oven if you needed to make a cup for the stumps. Mold it over the stumps then work it slightly larger so you can pad it with moleskin.

Guys, I'm just over the moon with my new pair. My friends all look at me funny, so I figured I'd gush here.

•I'm so excited to actually have a pair. It's my first pair. My very first. They're chicken-keeping history makers.
•The rooster is a REAL rooster. He's absolutely fabulous. Nothing like I've ever had before. My dog followed me into the garage today where they are and the rooster threw himself in front of her. It was awesome. Later I went in and they were both sleeping/cuddling. I opened the door to the cage and when I started to pet the hen, she clucked and the rooster abruptly pecked me to let me know that tpuching his lady like that would not be tolerated. I was never happier to be pecked.

ill be raising my first set of chickens this year going for a variety to see what will do best for me and my mini farm. 2 road island reds, one plymouth rock, one ameraucana, and araucana if i can get all the birds.

I would just keep an eye on it for now and see how he does with the neosporin. I always have keflex around the house. Keflex is for humans but works well for animals too. I am fortunate my Dr. writes for refills for me so I can just fill them as I need them. But to purchase them for animals, you can go to firststatevetsupply.com and get some there. A vet could write a script too. But at FirstState, the man that runs the store, Peter Brown (The chicken doctor) is wonderful for any questions on care for sick chickens. If you belong to facebook I would recommend to friend him. He has messaged me and I spoke to him on the phone as well regarding a silkie girl that got attacked by a hawk and survived. He is a wealth of knowledge and always willing to help. But for the Keflex dosage, a silkie can have 250 mg twice a day and you can even go up to 500 mg if needed especially for a larger chicken. It is a capsule and I had opened it up to mix with food like yogurt or moistened chicken feed. It smells terrible when you open up the capsule so mix it with something they really like. LOL

Keflex is 'strong' stuff by my limited medical knowledge...250mg/x2 a day is more of a human dose.....have to check out FirstState and the Doc, thanks for the heads up....
