Wing....
Some major questions to answer before deciding if you want to go further....
1). If this is a venture where they provide equipment, who maintains it and who insures it while it is on your property?
2) I hate dealing with insurance companies, but in this case you would have to.... how much liability insurance do you have to carry and
Can you insure the equipment for catastrophic loss due to theft, vandalism, power failure or natural disaster (think storm damage from trees)
3). If this is done in tanks, in barn.... will you have to be able to secure the barn from theft and vandalism? If so, then will the FIL allow your husband to
Boot out all of the other folks storing things in the barn so that he can control access as he should?
4) Do you have access to alternative power source? Large volume tanks with large numbers of fish may be able to survive a few hours without their
Filtration running but without aeration I think you would be facing massive dead loss in short order.
5) If there is a dead loss from disease or mechanical failure (of their equipment) then who covers the losses? Do you end up eating the cost?
I don't like to be a negative type, but these are just some background type questions I would want answered right off the bat.
If it were my property, and I could work out details, I think it would be a neat thing to give a shot!
