depends on what you want,,,if you just want mixes out of the layer pen, i would only charge $2 a dozen, that is my normal egg price, I would just need to know when so that they would not get washed or refrigerated...

pure breed would be a little different depending on breed, I would need atleast 2 weeks notice to make sure that they are pure......

chiqueschicks is also in my area, he has the swedish flower chickens (they seem to be very unique)

Right now I'd take just about anything.. lol

well ...... Are you willing to drive across the river to get them ???

Are the birds in your layer pen mixes or are there some pure breeds in there. I hope this doesn't sound rude but I don't want any leghorns please. We just don't get along..

More chicks hatching! These also underwent a 36 hour loss of power and 60 degree temp, but were only in there about 2 days when it happened. They are also 2 days late hatching.

There are 3 in this pic, the 2 in the back are mostly yellow and are "barnyard mix", but the shadowy guy in front might be the first of the German New Hampshires (I hope, I hope). I have to pull the empty shell and check it's number to be sure.

Sorry the pics aren't sharper, I can't open the incubator to get closer. Once they get to the brooder, I'll get a better shot, but I couldn't really wait for that

Awe, I just love little chicks and chickens..<3

For anyone who might be interested a local farmer has started his own feed mill. He grows all organic non gmo grains and mills it at his farm using fentrell minerals. 50 lb of layer is 12.50 a bag! He also makes chick, grower, broiler, horse, pig feeds. You name how many pounds and he will make it. Located in perry county. I work in harrisburg and could meet you with it there if anyone is interested. I love organics and non gmo but supporting a local farmer and not a huge corporation is icing on the cake. Pm if interested and I can give you his info.

my layer pen right now is anything from little serama up to a turkey and everything in between,,,there's probly 70 or so birds in there right now....don't worry i only have a couple leghorn and they are way to old to be laying eggs (youngest would be about 4)....

some are mixed breed themselves and some are pure, so really it would be impossible to say what might hatch.....but my older and main rooster is EE then next would be a maran and a very large silkie mix (he looks like a large white orpington but has some silkie feathers and the black skin)...

this is an old pic but it gives you the idea of how diverse the layer flock is,,,,could be anything in there..

Ok if you can, I guess I'll take two dozen then from the barnyard. They all look like really nice birds!
