I want to! Just let me fast forward a bit until someone becomes broody.

Okay, I am not saying the animals are spoiled, but ... I bought cucumbers, cabbage, squash and zucchini for the chickens yesterday. When I went near the coop to snag the treat bucket, which I forgot after giving them cucumbers at six this morning (IT WAS SO STINKIN' COLD OUT THERE!) 2 hens threw themselves at the run door asking for more treats. I ignored them, but Cadburry, the cross beak EE, walked down the run, and just stood there watching me. I swear I heard her say, 'Are you going to leave me here? Mommy? MOMMYYYY! Waaaaaa!" So I opened the door, and stuck my arm in. She flew up (poopy feet and all) and into the feed can she went. Fortunately, I can open a partial door that leads to the coop so she can get water when she wants (and go to the bathroom). I also gave the other girls some scratch. Into the house I went to mix up "leftover" (you know I made it just for them) rice and vegetables. Then it was the dog's turn. He gets allergy pills. Pills he will swallow by themselves, but taste SO much better with three treats. Then he went into the bedroom, unmade the bed, adjusted the pillows, gave me an "I dare you to tell me no" look, and went to sleep.
BTW, why is it that of 27 chickens (okay, 12. The other 15 are babies) only one will fly any distance, and high enough to get in/out of a four foot high door?
