Its very easy for me to avoid buying chicks at tsc. They have little to nothing I want to add to my flock. I might pick up some CX if they have some that don't sell and they've feed them for a week or two and sell them cheap. Beyond that, mostly run of the mill hatchery stock to me. Now if they had poults, different story, lol.
I'm happy with my orpington project and my Swedish Flowers, thank you. And the couple EE that are really friendly.
Now rabbits, I've been putting a lot in to getting them started. Btw, there are a lot of crazy rabbit people, just like crazy chicken people!

I stick with longenecker's for a couple reason's,,,,we know people that work there, and they take good cafre of us when we order, and it is on hubby's way home from work, makes it simple for pick up and they know he will be stopping in the office and are usually ready for him...

Hy-Line hatchery is also on his way home and I have gotten some great layers from them...

did I tell you that hubby wants to talk to you about some rabbit stock when you start your breeding program....I have nothing to do with this project so I have no idea what he is looking for..

does our TSC ever expand and bring rabbits and such in, come to think of it I never seen turkey poults there, why not, I bet they would sell great.

not to gross anyone out but, when you start to process rabbits let me know, I want to watch how you do that.

Wing you can come hang anytime!   I am not sure when my HRIR are coming, but kiddo just won silkie eggs so they are shipped today, depending on air cells we may set whatever eggs we have, mutts and all for a test run, so Sally Sunshine poultry will have cheap chicks later on!  I am going to try to hatch our black polish under CCL roo just for fun.  Not sure what they will look like, you genetics people have a clue?  

:weee   Wing is there a place down there for Cornish X NPIP I think you told me and I didnt bookmark!  I want to try some but I dont want to bring anything into my flock IF YOU know what I meannnnnn.

Sally...not to count chicks before they hatch (or before you get them) if you end up with any black silkies I would be interested. Plus it would give me a reason to let my DH go to Cabela's
