Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Ok guys. We managed to drag ourselves up off our butts and out of this gloomy house to work on the coop again. We're on the last wall frame and it's the one with the door for the chickens to go in and out. We have a few scrap pieces of wood that we were thinking of using up but we need to make sure it'll be big enough. Is an 11" x 16" Good enough size for them to go in and out?

I had a very mentally challenging day at work. No time to eat except for a few cheese nips (a big thank you to whoever left an almost empty bag) and 5 cups of coffee. Let me just say...do NOT go out for dinner and a "few" beers and then go to TSC for cat and dog food !!!!!

400

Because that my friends is what happens. 6 new chicks. At least one is a silkie :)

Hi everyone, I need some advice...I had three chicks hatch earlier today, and one of them is having difficulty it isn't able to stand on the one leg. Its hip is protruding out much further on the one side. Any suggestions???

Its too hard to see in the pic.

I usually do 12x12 for chicken & 24x24 for turkey & geese. Ducks can make do with 18x18 unless you have a huge scovy drake who needs the 24x24.

Yes, that is fine. I have had chickens squeeze through a 4" x 4" hole to lay their eggs on a daily basis. Silly chickens.

I laugh because it is something I would totally do! I have yet to be at a feed store since Chick Days has begun. I am trying to tell myself to be strong.

First suggestion is see if you can pop its hip back in. Second thought is to hold your breath, and snap its neck. If you need a drink or two first, go for it.
Adding a hug if you need to do the second thing.

Glad to hear some folks got a little work done today,...I will just be happy to get life back to normal.

really, need help to identify what that bantam chick might have been,,, I am tempted to drive back to TSC and get it just to see what it grows up to be,,,,bantam bin, not silkie, has yellow feet, bright white coloring.......if anyone knows please speak up, I really would hate to buy 6 birds just to see what one is.........didn't think it would be a good idea to google white chick

I did try to take the leg straight back and put the hip in, but no luck. I will keep watching and maybe try again in the morning. I don't think that I can do the second option, if that becomes necessary, I will still have the drink, but have my hubby take care of it.

can you get a picture from another angle,,,can't see anything wrong in this one

I know the drill,  pics or they do not exist.......picked up some cornishx at TSC,,,sorry Ray,,, about three week olds, I figure they are half way to the freezer...pics tomorrow...

they had a bin of bantam...one was a solid white color with little specks of black only on top of it's back...anyone take a guess what it is....I also seen silkie, and sebrights in that bin...

Thats fine. I have about 10, maybe more, roosters that have to go. The sooner the better. Really no need for Cornishx.
And 20+ eggs in the Bator, +20+ more ready to go in.. And my rabbit count is up to seven, not counting the babies with two more coming next weekend.
Yes, there is rabbit math, too, it seems.
