Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I have no clue where that is,,,,,,

would be great if someone here was breeding them,,,I would take a couple dozen eggs a year,,,seems they are like leghorns and only lay good for a year or two.

Its about 1mi from where Route #30 bypass re-connects back onto #30....just east of Octeraro,,,,and if you are willing to go further east and probably pay a bit more, Pickering Feed has them listed on their website...

I'm so frustrated I just read something on a chick being shrink raped in its shell. So since my eggs that should have hatched today didn't my mom and I checked them. We opened them up and all but one died from being shrink rapped. So now we are trying to save the one that is still barely alive.

Oh no!! It's good you have the courage to eggtopsy in order to help your future hatches, it can be unnerving.

Chippy, do you remember the name of the place I mentioned to you last year where you can get aprons and diapers? Was it Country closet?
Hmmm... I don't remember. Was it Louise's Country Closet? If I ever need an apron, I'm going to her! They're adorable and seem to be good quality for a price you can't beat!

I see you just added the link, MC.

Kiomey, is Betty a blue wyandotte?

I'm having a bit of a dilemma picking the breed that I want in spring. DP said that I could get a hen and my sister could get a hen. We'll hatch them and then keep a pullet from each batch. I wanted a mottled bantam cochin but I'm not sure I want one of those anymore. I have some criteria:

-no bantams
-single comb
-clean legged
-big,classic, hen
-good egg producer
-docile, but with personality
-able to be shown easily
-comes in blue (I really want a blue chicken)

I was thinking blue marans. What do you guys think?
