OH my! You are the best hubby ever!

Two days to chickens! My sister called to say she would be coming up. With my niece. They want chickens also but can't where they are. I can't believe how happy I am to finally be doing this.:weee

Whoot!. :jumpy

@Silkie, I know nothing about Breda, but DHetzel's pic seems to be showing feathered legs...

@Brittany, Of COURSE there's a way to test if an egg is fertile without cracking it....put it in an incubator!
.

I would love to have some bredas. Unfortunately, it is a feather footed bresse that has us stumped...lol

I think the serama have a home,   and the bresse has me baffled,  the OE has feathered legs, but the color doesn;t make sense, only other rooster is there at the time and for a few weeks before that is a young bantam cochin,   he seems to young and small, e has just started crowing in the last week....  let me think on this one,   even if one of the bresse boys would have jumped the fence, the feet do not make sense, what color are the feet.

The little legs are bright orange. Don't see any (or at least not much) puff to the cheeks either like I would think an oe would usually have. I've had a lot of white babies with spots hatching because my head roo is completely white. I know this one is yours though because it hatched a whole day before this batch of mine started. Plus I banded it before it went in the brooder. I had to give it vitamin/minerals & sugar it's first night because it was stargazing. Swore it would be dead by morning but it was up running all over the place & has been fine since.

I have over 40 chicks available right now from 3 hatch dates. The oldest batch is about 2 weeks old. Pix of the eggs & parents are included. More chicks are still hatching & will be hatching approximately weekly from now until about September. Please PM me if interested. I can ship if need be. I am NPIP.

My SO lives in downtown Harrisburg and could take some home on Sunday for Monday pick-up, or maybe Sunday night. That would be the best I could do, unless you want to drive down to Mount Joy. Then I'm sure wing and I could get you plenty.

i wouldn't mind visiting! I just gotta see how far it is. And what type of eggs do you have or breeds I guess is a better way to put it. When would be a good time to visit?

Silkie how do you suggest mailing serama chicks? Heat pack and how old is safe for the little boogers? and do you do guarantee on anything u send out? I want to send this batch possibly but not sure because they are so tiny!

Hmmm, busy weekend here and I don't even know if I have to work yet, but I'm sure I can fit something in.
I have orpingtons and Swedish flower hens, and some ee hems in with the orp.
Can't speak for what wing has, she has the big set up! If I have to, I can always leave eggs at her place to add to the quantity she has, lol
And yeah, its about 60 miles, the way it looks. Pretty far for eggs!

My frirnd does serama the same way I do call ducks & quail. Wait until they are 3-4 weeks old before shipping. They will still fit in a chick box & will handle shipping stress much better. Just take the feed & time involved into consideration when pricing. If someone wants younger babies they are pick-up only. Priority mail now comes with $50 free insurance. Offer that much only & only with proof of loss (pix) within 24 hrs of delivery. Tell them the claim has to be approved by usps before they recieve a refund.

I Def would love some ees. I have 2 buffs and my seeding hens are the ones I lost this winter they all seemed to have a Nero problem. But I will try a few swedish again they are beautiful! But let me know what wing says. I would love to see some other peeps set ups!!!

My Swedish roosters combs took a beating this winter and I lost two hens, but still have 7 hens and too many roosters.
They are the only thing I am really incubating this year. Trying to put a dozen or two a week in the incubator. Hopefully I start having some chicks next weekend. Never know what might go wrong, so not saying they will hatch. They are developing.
