Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Thankfully things with grandpap are going smoothly.
Everything else is not.

I have a small issue.  Night, my cat who had 5 kittens this morning, has not dried them or herself.  The placentas are still attached.  Can I cut the cords?  If so, how far from their stomachs?  Do I need to do something to limit blood flow?  Disinfect?  I have no iodine but have triple antibiotic some place.  I really have never had a cat this dumb about having babies.

ETA:  Night lost a lot of weight during pregnancy.  She was already a small cat - an Asian body type - and now her hips and back bone are sticking out.  I am actually afraid she may not be able to nurse these kittens.  She did bag up a little, but not a lot.  I was going by that for when she was due.  I knew it was soon, but she didn't really have enough milk - especially for 5 kittens!

BTW - Night is a blue calico.  Looks like we have one orange, two blacks a blue tabby and either a black or blue calico.

Give her and the kittens goats milk you can get it at tsc in a powder works great

I'm very thankful that we've moved into a really good school district. The one we were in before, I wouldn't put a shooting or stabbing past it and they didn't really care about the students. This district is amazing, they work with the kids and my kids absolutely love it and are excelling. They're even putting on a biblical play this weekend at the high school (Joseph and the amazing technicolor dream coat). We couldn't do home schooling or cyber school. My kids are way too social and I'd never have the patience for it :/

I may be able to go to root's this weekend and not buy anything, but green dragon....NNoooo..

I really am holding to no more breeds except the hedemora,,,I need to get straightened out and decide what I want to keep and what goes.

hedemora chicks will be on their way tomorrow,,,,finally getting one of the breeds that have been hard to find, hope they work out better than the ducks have.....

and it is official, will be adding pigs to the mix in the fall, I am being picky and wanting a breeding pair, so I have to wait till fall, but deposit has been made,,,,need to research and be ready..

My phone has been acting stupid, so catch up time.

Turkey eggs are when she has them and as many as she sends. My incubator is running, so no big problem. I put the third tray in.

If not a truck, how about a beat up SUV?

I wish kids didn't look at knives and guns as weapons, but rather the tools they are.

I'm sorry about your grandfather, it is never easy and nothing I can say well make it easier. Prayers for strength.

Anything else, I'll remember later. Probably not.

I have two coolerbators. One has a wafer thermostat, the other a cheap water heater thermostat I modified by drilling holes in the casing and mounting on a piece of metal on the wall of the cooler.

For some reason, the water heater one hold far steadier than the wafer, at least according to my thermometers.

Just thought I'd throw that out there.
