See! I try and re-purpose and reuse anything I can find. The coup I'm building is made out of old dogeared picket fence sections that I removed from a customer's house and the nesting boxes are in flower pots on shelves inside of a thrown away solid wood bookshelf.
 

Fence pieces and my bookshelf nesting area. I have the roof of the area as another piece of fence and have half a bundle of shingles that I salvaged from a construction site where they were left over and thrown on a scrap pile.
 
Oh! And at the same place the shingle came from were an entire pile of 2x4s that they threw away! I just had to pull a few nails or take a few screws out and they are perfect studs for coup framing. I have a section of vinyl fence that was a leftover from a display @ Home Depot. I have taken it apart and the slats I cut with a circular saw and now are in my small coup to separate the nesting boxes and cover the top. It is incredibly easy to clean and it keeps the nesting areas cleaner when they roost at night I can just scrap it off and wipe it down. Food for thought. It must be the "ish" in me. You know, Irish, Scottish, Polish, Jewish....we are all frugal.

Ok so when you all were talking about presents someone said magazine subscriptions and I was wondering what are good poultry ones if there are any??
 
Got home from work and could see the creek. Should stay away from house and barn unless we get another 4 inches!

@wingstone - my Ross are about 7 weeks. You want one or two ? I live a couple miles out Milton Grove Rd., so I can drop them of almost anytime I'm not working. Don't need any money, you do enough for people here. Pm me if you like.
