Hey guys!
Thought i'd pop in and say Hi! We've been busy around here with the garden, today i'm mulching- not my favorite task. I guess i haven't been here in awhile since i would have to read about 100 pages to get caught up. The girls have got me thinking about getting a few goats, they are obsessed with them, and i have a lot of brush to take care of!

Anyways, i hope that everyone is doing well and birds are healthy! I'll try to log on more......

Ya need to ping Blarney...she has a trio.....and one particularly good looking boy!

Please! Does any one have a hen they could sell me around 15 weeks old ? My neighbors dog got one of ours the other day. I am right near the NY- Pa border in Bradford County today, but tomorrow I will be coming home all the way down the Northeast Extension through the Pconos, and I can certainly make a detour .:D Any takers I have cash?

Anne I got ya covered!! Along with a dozen eggs, purple passion, and some Jade for you :)

Hi everyone.
hello!!

Blarney good luck, hope he feels better soon!

Still looking for fertile Pekin eggs if anyone has or can recommend someone, I do barter and I can pick up.

Can anyone tell me, what are the odds my Pekin can hatch moscovy eggs before I buy them??? I read they take 35 days to hatch and she has been sitting for 3+ days pretty solid. .

Soo it was in the low 90's today and humid. I have my coop in the garage with four hens I got right after Easter. I am new to all of this. My New Hampshire reds were panting a bit so I put a fan on top of screen pointing down into the open part of coop. They seemed good after that. Should I leave fan on all night? I keep reading about ventilation and don't want to lose one this summer. Any thoughts? Thanks

Most of the ventilation discussion is keeping it dry when it's cold. Chickens pant like dogs, cats and everything else that doesn't sweat. High humidity has no effect on non sweaters when hot.
They can take 90s no problem but a fan on low just to keep air moving is good.

Thank you! They were panting today. I have kept a fan on and propped open the enclosed coop door a bit for more air flow. Here they are enjoying the fan lol!

I have Muscovy eggs, I also have a broody on Muscovy eggs, set on may 26, I can let you know when they hatch, if you want to try sliding some under your broody.
