Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

awww I miss my old frizzles : (   Blue = I was told that is a washed out bird, not good for show, thats how I got my pretty girl, but I think she was bleached without shade anywhere in the run....

(edited to WINK at LilBROWNIE) he he he

So now the big question is do I keep them or get rid of them!!! I know my daughter wants to show she is too young to do it now but what do I do until then?? Keep thinking I guess I should only keep the best cause we will benefit from that in the end I guess!!

Ok so posting some new pics.. of my Fluffy kids..

Ok so this is Sparkles and i am wondering would she be considered penciled?? Pic below is a close up of her feather.. Just thought she was considered blue but now that i have see pictures you all have posted im wondering if she is more.. Plus my 2 roos have some of this color marking too. they were just hatchery birds and supposed to be Blue Bantam Cochins.

Closeup, she is like this all over except her head is dark!!

This is the same patterning that my blue orps have. I am not sure for cochins, but for orps this is just plain old blue.

They must have taught him a thing or two!!! LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hey I tagged you on FB in a post with my friends, dont get too overwhelmed lol
I wouldn't question the ability or fertility of any of those brothers,,, and they just keep getting better as they grow,,, Chad should post a pic of his,,I'd love to compare to what's still here !

If I'm not exhibiting my birds...can I add birds from someone who isn't pep or npip? I figure annually testing seems reasonable...

Annual testing is awesome! And not to confuse things...but you do not need to be NPIP or a part of the PA Pullorum Equivalent Program in order to show.

You only need to do whatever testing the individual show requires. Any PA show that is receiving funding from the state requires exhibitors to be AI and Pullorum free, meaning that 30 birds (3 weeks of age or older) being a good representation of the flock must test AI free within 6 months of the show and the birds to be shown must be tested for Pullorum. We only leg banded the birds that showed a positive result to the rapid plate test for Pullorum. (which turned out to be false positives, the test leans that way for safety).

I want to get re-certified, meet all you guys, AND Drs. Martin & Hanshaw... I hope the date is one I can make!

Oh, and I am in puppy heaven!

Have to say,,, Lilbrownie, you've got some nice Cochin Bantams there !

Really like the MF, and normally not an admirer of frizzle, but yours have a very nice "round look" to them,,,, quite attractive !

keep up the good work
