Here's the story. My hen "March" ( that's her at 10 months in my avatar) Ha been sitting eggs for the longest time.

2 days ago, I found she had actually hatched out a chick.

But didn't care for it because she was also sitting eggs which hadn't hatched yet.

The chick wandered out of the raised coop and fell to the ground. It wasn't hurt.

I found it cheeping and took it inside, gave it a dose of nutritional supplement and made it a small brooder. I closed out my hatching season a couple of weeks ago and also disposed of the eggs March was sitting. So no more chicks this age. This strain can be feather sexed so I know she is a pullet. Nice little Light Sussex from a quality strain.

She needs a home. She doesn't fit into my schedule and I hate to put her down. Should be feathered out by winter. I checked her down feathers last night and it's the right hue to have real nice coloring when she grows up.

If you need a little pullet chick let me know.

Hello all just wanted to say hi and I have 5 chickens I just love them just got them about a month ago they love it here they were on a farm my buddy gave them to me I got a silky they are really cool she is so awesome her name is checkers my other four are I mix of different chickens me and my daughter really are enjoying them she is six and is just amazed at how much fun it is getting eggs and helping me keep them clean and all that stuff ok well just wanted to introduce myself

howdy from Chester Co....glad your kido's are engaged....and having fun!!!

Howdy neighbor....(East Whiteland here).....I should have a few chicks hatching around 09/07.....they'd be mixed and maybe some Olive eggers....there are predators everywhere....I've had fox in my backyard four times and I have a dog....so far no loses, but, there is always some attrition due to predators...I've just been lucky....you are welcome to stop by and see my chooks and their setup....there maybe a few things you can do help protect you flock....

What type of chooks do you have? and what are you looking for?
