BYC Café

Good morning Cafè. Coffee is ready.

My dogs are confused. They normally get fed at 5. C will be taking over their care in a little over 3 weeks and to say he is not a morning person is the biggest understatement I can think of! So I'm slowly moving the dogs feeding time out to 7:00 to help all parties involved. The dogs are not getting their breakfast until 5:30 this morning. I'm being glared at.

I have the opposite problem with my cats.
I usually feed late (I am an early riser but I don’t get to the cats until after the chickens and some other regular chores).
When I travel my friend who cares for them tends to feed them a lot earlier.
When ever I return from a trip I find cats sitting by, and in some cases in, their empty bowls, while conjuring the devil with their eyes!

Monday through Friday, I get up at 6:00. I start my oats/oatmeal cooking, and get the coffee brewing in the French press. Then I let Freya out of the bedroom (bedroom is across the hall from the kitchen so I shut the door), give her her breakfast, and take her out to potty.

Saturday and Sunday, hubby cooks bacon and eggs for breakfast, and I sleep in until 6:45. Then get my coffee brewing and take Freya out.

To say that I sleep in... not really. Freya moves around, sometimes makes one or two little "hmh-hmh" whimpers and I usually wake up. But I will not get up before 6:45, Freya. That is mom time.

About the middle of May, it'll be plenty light by 6:00, and the chickens will expect me to let them out. I'll need to redo my schedule to accommodate. Cross that bridge when we come to it.
