Really suprised they stink so. We used to raise them for my reptiles when I was younger and they didn't stink!! Blarney all you need is some scratch or any kind of food even oatmeal and I'd recommend going out and buying some from a fishing place and add them to the mixture. They will turn into beetles don't kill those because they lay the eggs!! Good luck this is my project soon for my chickens this winter!! Just keep the food you give them dry food they also like potatoes!!

OK, found the PA sale, Lake Tobias, Halifax. Also too far, at this late hour anyway. I'd love to hear about it(especially prices) if anyone goes.

I guess I'll try to sell my birds at the Sussex show.

I feel terrible! I kept thinking that was what you were talking about, but I also thought yesterday was Saturday. I am so sorry I didn't suggest it as soon as I saw the post!

We used to put any kind of feed we had on hand in it and only dry potatoes if they were wet they would rot and you only need to put small slices in there they don't eat a lot !! It is all a figure out game but I'm suprised they smelled so bad hmm weird!!
 
Spent lots of time today planning new coops and reconfiguring the old ones. I think I have the breeds down that I am going to keep and we are adding a LF coop as well, just for pleasure. Don't know if I have share the two silkie babies that I decided to keep, so here they are.
